The story
Set within a compact 70 sq. yard plot in Jangpura, New Delhi, this interior project reinterprets Scandinavian minimalism for a contemporary Indian urban home. Rather than relying on heavy ornamentation, the rooms gain their character through proportion, texture, lighting and a carefully curated material and furniture palette.
The colour scheme is deliberately soft and nature-inspired — a dusty blue-grey anchors the principal rooms, while warm ivory and off-white keep the compact spaces bright and open. Beige and taupe accents add comfort, light oak tones bring organic warmth, and sparing touches of muted ochre, brass and marble-look stone lend the interiors a quiet, understated richness.
Guided by a philosophy of ‘less, but better’, every surface and fitting — from the bedroom and bathroom to the kitchen and home office — was resolved to serve a clear purpose. Cool tones establish depth, warm neutrals bring comfort, and controlled, layered lighting draws the materials together, so that a modest footprint reads as calm, spacious and timeless.
